Conditions Opening a Commercial Registry For Women
The Ministry of Commerce and Investment in the Kingdom allows Saudi women to issue a commercial register electronically through the electronic services portal of the Ministry of Commerce, according to the conditions for opening a commercial register for women established by the Ministry’s regulations.
The Ministry issued new amendments to the commercial registration system in order to keep pace with international developments and best practices to improve the investment and business environment in the Kingdom, which reflects an increase in the growth of starting commercial projects in various economic sectors.
These amendments aim at facilitating the procedures for starting a commercial project for women in the same way as for men, by following safe and easy electronic solutions developed by the Ministry.
Conditions for opening a commercial registry for women
Saudi commerce has predetermined the requirements for issuing the commercial register. The conditions for opening a commercial registry for women and the required papers are the same as those followed when issuing records for men, within the framework of procedures to facilitate the start of new women’s projects in line with the goals of the “Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”
Conditions for issuing a main commercial register (establishment):
- The age of the applicant should not be less than 18 years
- Not to be a government employee
- The capital should not be less than 5000 riyals
- Absher service should be activated
- The service fee is: 200 riyals per year, in addition to the Chamber of Commerce fees according to the type of activity for the commercial register and the grade for each year.

Conditions for issuing a subsidiary commercial register (establishment):
- The age of the applicant should not be less than 18 years
- Not to be a government employee
- The capital should not be less than 5000 riyals
- The service fee is: 100 riyals for the year.

Mechanism for opening a commercial register for women electronically
The Ministry of Commerce is keen on facilitating matters for Saudi women without the need to visit the Ministry’s building, and is satisfied with issuing an immediate electronic commercial register, and its approval by the competent employee electronically.

Steps to issue a master commercial registry for Saudis
1. Go to the page https://mci.gov.sa and log in with the user name and customer password.
2. Click on the Issuance of Commercial Registration icon.
3. Three options will appear for the trade name (reserved name – existing name – personal name).
4. Choosing the activity in the first, second and third levels, note that it is not possible to choose more than one activity in the first level and in the second level, and the customer can choose more than one activity in the third level as desired, provided that the number of characters in the activities does not exceed 350 characters.
5. After selection, you will choose the number of years from one to five years, according to the client’s desire.
6. Fill in the data for each of the following: (fiscal year – capital – facility address and contact information)
7. Click on the Send Request icon.
8 . The invoice sent on the mobile phone is paid, and then the commercial registration is printed without the need to visit the Ministry’s branches.
