The Concept of Technological Innovations

Technological innovations raise the effectiveness and efficiency of the various educational situations, which are designed for students, so that this results in a solution to the educational problems that they face during the academic stages.

The concept of technological innovations

Technological innovations are defined as solutions to the problems of education to raise its efficiency and increase its effectiveness in a manner commensurate with the nature of the current era.

Represented in different theories and strategies in the field of education, designed and adapted to suit the educational process, making it characterized by interaction, individuality, diversity, universality and integration. [1]

[2] Technological innovations have been defined as everything that can be adapted from what is new and innovative in the educational process, such as modern devices and machines, teaching aids, training programs and innovative teaching methods, with the aim of increasing the ability of the teacher and the learner to deal with the educational process and solve its problems, and to increase the effectiveness of the educational process in a way It is commensurate with the nature of the era of knowledge revolution and contemporary technology.

He defined it [3] as an idea, program, or product, which comes in the form of an integrated system or a sub-system of another integrated system, and necessarily entails unfamiliar and uncommon behaviors, in terms of the beneficiaries of this idea, this product, or this program.

It is defined as a set of foundations, standards, methods, and tools that work as an integrated system to facilitate the educational process, develop it, and raise its effectiveness, using the latest scientific research aimed at reaching the required goals of education in a sound and smooth manner that is attractive to learners and teachers as well, by using human and non-human resources to provide Education more effective.

It is also defined as a set of models, systems, methods, and modern interactive educational techniques that benefited from education technologies from different sciences such as information and communication technologies that are used to develop and modernize the educational process to achieve its objectives efficiently and effectively, with what it achieves from the principles of interaction, complementarity, enrichment, and uniqueness such as: e-learning, mobile learning, learning, Single education, virtual education, interactive multimedia, hypermedia, e-course, educational computer, interactive video…etc.

Based on the foregoing, technological innovations are defined as the use of all that is new and developed in terms of devices, tools and technological means, with the aim of changing the role of the traditional teacher from a prompter and source of information to a facilitator, organizer and directer of the educational process.

The role of the learner has also changed from a passive recipient of information to a positive and interactive participant, transforming his role into a major role in the educational process, in a way that ultimately achieves the goals of the educational process in general, and in a way that suits the nature of the current era and the current circumstances of the spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19), which made education Traditional is impossible.

We conclude from the previous definitions of technological innovations some points, the most important of which are:

  • Raise the efficiency of the educational process and increase its effectiveness, and make it commensurate with the nature of the times.
  • Increasing the motivation of learners towards the educational process in general.
  • Paying attention to raising the efficiency of teachers and keeping them up to date, whether in the field of using modern technology or in the field of mathematics.
  • Solving problems of the educational process.
  • Making the student the focus of the educational process, and changing his role from a passive recipient to an active participant.
