Anza

Anza was for a long time a district of Agadir, but today it is an independent city, located north of Agadir along the ocean, on the road to Essaouira.

One of the great assets of Anza is its superb beach. Anza beach is popular with surfers and all board sports enthusiasts, but it is also a delight for swimmers. It is also a place known for its hundreds of dinosaur footprints, dating back over 85 million years and which are visible at low tide.

If you don’t know where to sleep near Agadir, but not necessarily in the city itself, the village of Taghazout (pronounced “Tarazout”) is an alternative that might interest you. This fishing village which is about twenty kilometers north of the city has largely developed over the last decades to become a famous seaside destination. Its development is still continuing, with the arrival of large hotel complexes, which are not necessarily to the taste of all the inhabitants.

Tamraght
Tamraght is a small Moroccan Berber village built on the mountainside, which is a good ten kilometers from Agadir on the road that leads to Taghazout. Along the main road, many small restaurants follow one another and you can taste an authentic tajine and specialties based on freshly caught fish.
Tamraght is also a good starting point to discover the hinterland and the Valley of Paradise during unforgettable hikes.
